I am always thoroughly impressed by people's artistic talent. While collecting Scott Rolen cards, and pouring all of my card budget into buying his cards over the years, I never really looked into having any art created for my collection. That is until 2008 when I was perusing the FreedomCardBoard message boards. Eric (who goes by WoundedDuck on FCB) posted about some custom drawings he was doing. I really liked the drawings he was posting so I reached out to him and asked him to create a Rolen for my collection. After that one, I kind of shelved the idea of having others done because of that card budget I imposed upon myself. That is until fairly recently. I credit (or blame) instagram for my renewed interest in custom card art.
